Hydration = Water Within The Skin
Hydration refers to the water content inside your skin cells.
When skin is properly hydrated, there is enough water inside those cells for the skin to function normally. Cells stay plump and flexible, which helps the skin look smoother, feel more comfortable, and reflect light more evenly.
When hydration is low, the skin is lacking water. Skin cells shrink as water levels drop, which is what creates tightness, dullness, and fine lines that seem to show up or look worse out of nowhere. Even oily skin can experience this, because hydration has nothing to do with how much oil your skin produces.
What helps: Humectants like hyaluronic acid and glycerin that draw water into the skin.
