What to Expect During and After Treatment

Using a very fine needle, I will inject a saline solution directly into the spider vein. If your treatment area is your legs, you will bring a compression garment to wear home.

Aftercare

No working out or strenuous activity for 72 hours

No sun exposure to treatment area for 8 weeks

The Science

Sclerotherapy involves an injection of a saline solution directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot. Over time, the vessel turns into scar tissue that fades from view.
